| In the unusally cold winter of early February 2009 it was quite a common ocurrence to find soft impressions made in snow wich then froze hard very quickly. Here we see the wing feathers of a Jay that settled, probably to get to a vole that appears to have found sanctuary in a deep part of the snow. The feathers' impression froze very quickly - and were found just after dawn in a perfect state. | |||||||||||
