Asheldham Pics

The
Asheldham Centre
Hunter Outdoor Training is immensely proud of its association with The Asheldham Centre; both organisations are quite unique in the region and in their concepts; many individuals ask about the Centre, and many group leaders never get as far as checking the official websites - and find it hard to believe we work out of a 1000 year-old building - and even harder trying to imagine what it's like inside - and what sort of courses we run here - hence this part of the website dedicated solely to those who ask all the questions - we hope the pictures tell a bit more of the story.

Ethereal, charismatic, atmospheric, silent, & unique.

The Location of the Centre in rural land to the east of the village of Asheldham

We recently laid a new floor - and installed new lighting - far better for all concerned - this is the view of the Main hall with nothing in it save the font. You'll not see this view very often!

Similar view to above but with the layout on the morning of our annual Open Day

Most courses self-cater, which is often part of the personal challenge for the teams.

Many groups run their own courses - led by their own leaders; but more and more we are asked to set up and run outdoor activities using Hunter's long experience of 30 years instructing specialist tailor made courses. The following is just an example of what we can do for your group:

Campcraft - not just camping for the sake of it - but instructing the correct, and best, way to camp - anywhere, in any conditions; Hunter is the only organisation in the region to instruct and lead winter campcraft:
